Fitness equipment manufacturer International Inc. (TPE: 1598) reported a financial turnaround for the first half of the year, driven by strategic restructuring efforts and asset disposal gains.

The Taiwan-headquartered company recorded consolidated revenue of NT$2.919 billion (approx. US$91.22 million) for the first six months. Net profit after tax reached NT$107 million (approx. US$3.34 million), successfully rebounding from losses during the same period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at NT$0.64 (approx. US$0.02).

Second-Quarter Performance

For the second quarter, Dyaco posted revenues of NT$1.281 billion (approx. US$40.03 million). Although seasonal industry headwinds led to an operating loss of NT$1.27 billion (approx. US$39.69 million), non-operating gains from asset sales boosted net profit after tax to NT$64.91 million (approx. US$2.03 million) for the quarter, generating an EPS of NT$0.39 (approx. US$0.012).

Revenue Segment Breakdown (Q2)

  • Home Fitness Equipment: Accounted for 61.8% of total Q2 revenue, down 8.3% year-over-year due to a transition phase between legacy and new product models.
  • Commercial Fitness Equipment: Represented 27.1% of revenue, surging 21.4% year-over-year as strategic repositioning began to yield results.
  • Rehabilitation & Medical Products: Surged 217.6% year-over-year to make up 6% of Q2 sales, boosted by shipments of a brand-new product line.
  • Electric Assist Bicycles (E-Bikes): Accounted for 3.7% of revenue, reflecting a high comparison baseline from the previous year.

Expansion into Commercial Gyms & Autonomous Vehicles

Dyaco highlighted that its commercial fitness segment recently secured partnerships with several major chain gym operators across North America, accompanied by the rollout of a comprehensive commercial strength-training equipment line.

Looking beyond core fitness, Dyaco announced in July its diversification into the unmanned autonomous vehicle market. The company established a U.S. subsidiary, Santi Innovation, and completed initial preparations for a local manufacturing base to serve the North American market.
