Event organizer RX has officially canceled FIBO Arabia 2026, which was scheduled to take place at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center in Saudi Arabia from September 8–10. The second edition of the health, fitness, and wellness trade show has now been rescheduled for October 6–8, 2027, with the venue remaining unchanged.
Geopolitical Context & Event Impact
The decision to pull the show comes after extensive consultation with key stakeholders due to continuing conflict and instability across the Middle East. Escalating tensions in August—including military friction involving the US, Israel, and Iran, along with threats to maritime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz—have severely disrupted international logistics, transport, and regional corporate travel. FIBO Arabia joins a growing list of impacted business events, following global organizer Informa’s postponement of shows across 10 of its Middle East regional brands earlier this year.
A Minor Setback to Vision 2030 Growth
The postponement temporarily halts FIBO’s rapid expansion in the Gulf, which launched with a successful inaugural event in Riyadh in October 2025. That show drew over 12,300 visitors, 80 exhibitors, and 50 speakers.
The 2026 show was projected to expand significantly, targeting:
• Exhibitors: 140+ international companies across fitness, recovery, hospitality, and corporate wellness
• Attendees: Over 17,500 trade visitors and industry decision-makers
• Market Opportunity: Saudi Arabia’s local fitness sector is projected to reach SAR 15.5 billion (US $4.14 billion) by 2030, strongly backed by the Saudi Ministry of Health and alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative to boost physical activity and sports investment.
Global Event Schedule
Despite the delay of the regional Middle East show, FIBO’s flagship event—FIBO Global Fitness in Cologne, Germany—remains unaffected and will run as scheduled from April 8–11, 2027.
