1. Impulse to Invest 659 Million Yuan in Hainan to Expand into Smart Fitness and Rehabilitation Sectors
Chinese fitness equipment giant Impulse (002899.SZ) announced on June 1, 2026, that it will construct the “Hainan Impulse Smart Sports Industrial Park” through its wholly-owned subsidiary in Hainan.
The total investment for the project is approximately 659 million yuan, to be implemented in two phases over an estimated 4-year construction period in the Haikou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
The first phase, named the “Smart Fitness and Rehabilitation Equipment R&D and Manufacturing Base,” involves an investment of roughly 299 million yuan for land acquisition, infrastructure construction, and initial equipment sourcing.
To support this project, Impulse simultaneously launched a refinancing plan to raise up to 299.5 million yuan by issuing A-shares to specific objects through a simplified procedure.
2. TRNR and iFIT Extend Content Licensing Agreement to 2028
Interactive Strength Inc. (TRNR) announced on June 3, 2026, that its brand, Ergatta, extended and expanded its content licensing partnership with iFIT Inc. through mid-2028.
The new two-year agreement expands the global reach of Ergatta’s game-based fitness content across iFIT’s platform, including NordicTrack and ProForm equipment. Acquired by TRNR in March 2026, Ergatta has become a highly profitable asset, boasting a monthly membership retention rate above 98%.
The brand is projected to generate over $10 million in revenue for 2026 with an EBITDA margin of around 30%, bolstering TRNR’s confidence in hitting its group-wide revenue target of over $30 million for the year. Following the successful “iFIT & Ergatta Spring Cup” virtual race, the companies plan to launch an autumn event and explore future offline activations.
3. Oura Launches World’s Smallest Smart Ring to Redefine Wearable Health Tech
On June 4, 2026, smart health wearable brand Oura officially launched the Oura Ring 5, priced from €399 plus a subscription fee for premium features. Measuring 6.09 mm wide and 2.28 mm thick, the device is 40% smaller than its predecessor, making it the world’s smallest smart ring.
Despite the size reduction, the device features a new 12-channel signal sensor architecture and an upgraded optical system to improve measurement accuracy across diverse skin tones and finger structures.

4. Peloton Acquires Skōp to Secure Reformer Pilates Technology and Expand Ecosystem
Peloton recently acquired Pilates startup Skōp, signalling an expansion into the Reformer Pilates segment. Skōp’s core innovation relies on built-in digital tracking sensors that measure spring resistance tension, movement paths, and weight distribution to deliver real-time form feedback.
The space-saving equipment features a foldable design that occupies less space than a traditional treadmill. Peloton CEO Peter Stern noted that during Q3 of fiscal 2026 (January to March), Peloton’s Mat Pilates user engagement surged by 48% year-over-year.
Although Peloton has not announced hardware release timelines, market analysts expect the company to leverage its growing B2B division (via Precor and Peloton for Business) to deploy Skōp’s technology into commercial fitness clubs, hospitality resorts, and personal training environments.
5. Innerva Showcases Next-Generation Power-Assisted Equipment for Active Ageing
Honley-based fitness equipment manufacturer Innerva finalized preparations to showcase its next-generation power-assisted exercise equipment at Elevate, the UK’s largest fitness trade show in London.
Brand ambassador Derrick Errol Evans (Mr Motivator) scheduled appearances at the company’s booth and the Debate Stage to discuss the industry’s role in supporting active ageing. The lineup features two brand-new machines—the Pec & Deltoid and the Abductor/Adductor—which underwent real-world evaluation at the company’s Active Gold research facility in Mirfield.
Matt Holland, Head of Product Development, highlighted that the new line was shaped through a co-design process involving older adults to optimize accessibility and comfort. Shaun Fox, Director at Active Gold, confirmed that user feedback driven by these trials yielded major enhancements in usability and physical independence.
6. Chinese Sports Standardization Delegation Attends ISO/TC83 Meetings in Germany
A Chinese sports standardization delegation, comprising officials from the General Administration of Sport’s Economic Department, Equipment Center, and Martial Arts Center, attended the annual plenary and working group meetings of ISO/TC83 in Berlin, Germany, from June 1 to June 5, 2026.
During the sessions, Chinese conveners led the SC6/WG2 Martial Arts Equipment Working Group, establishing consensus on definitions, materials, and safety metrics for new international standards regarding competition cudgels and spears.
The delegation also advanced a 5-part series of technical specifications for Taijiquan movements and reported on the domestic adoption of international standards for Taiji apparel and swords.
Additionally, the team engaged in discussions on tennis and padel court safety standards while introducing new project proposals for fitness trails and AI sports robotics.
7. Renhe Breaks Ground on 200 Million Yuan Smart Manufacturing Project in Xiamen
Xiamen Renhe Sports has officially broken ground on its new Smart Manufacturing Project within the Tongan Industrial Concentration Zone. Representing a total investment of 200 million yuan, the facility covers a land area of 33 mu (approximately 21,852 square meters) with a total planned floor area of 77,800 square meters.
The manufacturing plant is projected to begin commercial operations by 2028. The land parcel (No. T2025G12-G), located in the Xinmin Sector of Tongan District, was successfully acquired via a public listing on May 13, 2026, for a transaction price of 9 million yuan with a 50-year industrial lease.
Local government agencies fast-tracked the necessary administrative approvals, setting a new efficiency benchmark for immediate construction upon land acquisition in the Tongan district.
8. SoulCycle CEO Evelyn Webster Steps Down Amid Reported Studio Closures
SoulCycle CEO Evelyn Webster announced her departure after nearly six years leading the Equinox-owned boutique cycling brand to become the CEO of Audiochuck, a major US podcast company, effective July 2026.
Webster initially joined SoulCycle in late 2020, guiding the business through pandemic-related disruptions. Despite her optimistic farewell statement regarding the brand’s long-term community presence across its 20 remaining markets in the US and UK, riders recently reported local studio closures in regions such as Walnut Creek and La Jolla, California.
The indoor cycling sector continues to face post-pandemic pressures; SoulCycle recorded $350 million in losses in 2020 due to temporary lockdowns, subsequently shuttered nearly 25% of its physical locations in 2022, and has not indicated any public growth initiatives since.
9. World Gym and HYROX Form Strategic Partnership to Boost Fitness Racing in Taiwan
World Gym-KY (2762) announced a three-year strategic partnership with fitness racing brand HYROX, marking HYROX’s largest corporate agreement in the Asia-Pacific region.
The initial phase integrates HYROX training programs into World Gym’s personal training offerings across more than 140 branches in Taiwan, with plans to expand into the Thailand market by the end of 2026.
World Gym aims to leverage its base of 500,000 active members and 40 million annual check-ins to host localized HYROX-style challenges. John Caraccio, Chairman and GM of World Gym-KY, stated that the partnership establishes a scalable expansion model across their global franchise network.
HYROX APAC Director Calvin Wong noted that World Gym’s robust club infrastructure provides an unparalleled platform to scale fitness racing internationally.
10. Dyaco Enters Top-Tier North American Fitness Chains, Targets Commercial Growth
During its investor conference on May 29, 2026, Dyaco (1598) announced its commercial fitness equipment business successfully secured supply contracts with leading North American fitness chains, including Anytime Fitness, Orangetheory Fitness, and Snap Fitness.
Chairman Lin Youying stated that commercial operations will drive substantial revenue growth in the second half of the year. For Q1 2026, Dyaco reported a net profit of 41.64 million NTD on revenue of 1.638 billion NTD, achieving its first positive Q1 operating profit since 2021 with a gross margin of 42.1%.
Under its “ReFit” operational optimization initiative, the company aims to reduce its operating expense ratio below 36% by year-end. Dyaco also introduced its “i-Strength” commercial strength line, targeting a global market share of over 1% within five years.
