Pulse Fitness, the UK-based commercial fitness equipment manufacturer with over 45 years of industry heritage, today announced its official expansion into the United States market. The company has appointed Jamie Burton as President of USA and Global Development, alongside a seasoned leadership team including Chief Revenue Officer Mike Kelly, Sales Director Andrew Graham, and Vice President of Operations Ed Kurzontkowski — each bringing more than three decades of fitness industry experience.
The expansion marks a pivotal milestone for Pulse Fitness as it targets America’s $5.5–6.2 billion commercial fitness equipment market, which has posted 19 consecutive quarters of visitation growth and imported $8.89 billion worth of fitness equipment in 2025 alone.
Strategic Leadership Built for US Market Entry
Pulse Fitness has assembled a four-person leadership team whose combined industry experience exceeds 120 years. Burton, who has held senior roles at Johnson Health Tech UK and Chisel Fit, has been preparing for this US launch since January 2024, when he first assumed the role of Country General Manager for the US region.
“The United States is the world’s largest and most dynamic fitness market, and we are committed to establishing Pulse Fitness as a trusted partner for American gym operators,” said Jamie Burton, President of USA and Global Development at Pulse Fitness. “Our team combines deep industry knowledge with a genuine passion for making fitness more accessible to everyone.”
Mike Kelly, with prior leadership roles at Ziva Strength, Aktiv Solutions, and American Barbell, will drive revenue growth and strategic partnerships. Andrew Graham, formerly of Les Mills US and Medical Fitness Association, leads sales strategy. Ed Kurzontkowski, a 40-year manufacturing veteran from True Fitness and Cybex International, will oversee operations, logistics, and customer service.
18-Inclusive-Product Line: A Differentiated Market Approach
At the heart of Pulse Fitness’s US strategy is its Inclusive Line — 18 pieces of strength and cardio equipment designed for users of varying mobility levels. Key accessibility features include swing seats for wheelchair users, multiple adjustment handles, high-visibility color schemes for visually impaired individuals, and a design philosophy that ensures inclusive machines visually match standard equipment to eliminate stigma.
The Inclusive Line includes low-impact treadmills, elliptical cross-trainers, upright and recumbent exercise bikes, and adjustable step-up platforms. All products carry certification from the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI), and the line has been developed in collaboration with two-time Paralympian and champion powerlifter Ian Marsden, who serves as Pulse Fitness’s Inclusive Line design consultant.
“Our commitment to making fitness more accessible is reflected in our extensive range of inclusive strength and cardio solutions,” Burton said. “We are bringing that same commitment, expertise and partnership approach to customers throughout the United States.”
Proven Track Record with Premium Global Clients
Pulse Fitness enters the US market with a portfolio of established international partnerships. The company outfitted Third Space, London’s premier health club in Wimbledon, with 14 pieces of strength and plate-loaded equipment featuring interactive console technology. Royal Air Force Brize Norton gym also relies on Pulse Fitness hardware.
In Switzerland, Pulse Fitness has maintained a 20-year strategic partnership with Update Fitness, equipping over 80 locations across the country. The partnership recently reached a new milestone as Update Fitness approaches its 100th club opening, with Pulse Fitness providing innovative “Xpress” gym concepts at Zurich’s main railway station — a collaboration that begins at the design phase to ensure seamless equipment integration.
Riding the US Commercial Fitness Resurgence
The expansion comes at an opportune moment. According to the Health & Fitness Association, US commercial fitness facilities recorded 19 consecutive quarters of foot traffic growth through 2025, averaging over 184,000 visits per location. Americans are projected to spend an estimated $60 billion on health and fitness goals in 2026, with gym operators investing heavily in equipment upgrades as the commercial segment outpaces home consumer growth.
The US fitness equipment market is experiencing transformative trends — AI-driven strength training, connected ecosystems, fitness-wellness convergence, and growing demand for inclusive and adaptive equipment — all areas where Pulse Fitness’s product portfolio and UK engineering heritage position it to compete.
